About
I know what I'm talking about.
I have specialised in the field of equality and diversity for
over ten years. I became a freelance consultant in 2006, and since
then, have advised organisations on equality and diversity,
including conducting equality impact assessments, drafting equality
schemes and designing and delivering equality and diversity
training.
I originally practised employment law at one of Scotland's
leading law firms, where I acted in discrimination and equal pay
cases, and advised on equality and diversity. I have also lectured
in an Employment Law Masters Course at one of Scotland's largest
universities.
I also worked with a global HR consultancy, where I specialised
in equal pay. I have extensive experience in job evaluation, and
have advised on eliminating equal pay bias in the implementation,
and ongoing process of, job evaluation, including reviewing job
families and pay and grading structures for bias.
I am a member of Clydebank College's Equality and Diversity
Committee, and the Scottish Criminal Case Review Commission's
Equality User Group. I am also a Director of the Scottish Community
Development Centre.
