Hit the Ground Running

Background

Hit the Ground Running provide training for film and television new entrants through both short training and placement based training schemes.

Many of their courses are oversubscribed, and they asked us to review recruitment procedures to ensure that they were fair, accessible and inclusive and to develop a strategic framework to attract greater diversity..

 

Approach

We advised that where possible an objective approach should be used to rank applicants based on clear and transparent criteria. A points system can also be used as a positive action initiative, for example, by awarding extra points for females in technical roles.

Process

We reviewed the organisation’s website and social media to see how they promoted the training courses. We then articulated which groups were under represented, and developed an applications points framework and strategy to encourage greater diversity.
